Click on picture for larger view. Anne Set This is by far the most stunning piece I've made! 1/2" Sardonyx coins with 8mm onyx rounds. Wikipedia says this of Sardonyx: The colors of its bands range from white to almost every color (save some shades, such as purple or blue). Commonly, specimens of onyx available contain bands of colors of white, tan, and brown. Sardonyx is a variant in which the colored bands are sard (shades of red) rather than black. Pure black onyx is common, and perhaps the most famous variety, but not as common as onyx with banded colors. The necklace is 18" with a 1 1/4" pendant and a round silver toggle clasp, bracelet is just under 8" with a round silver toggle clasp, and earrings are about 1/2". I will try to sum it up here: Deep in the Amazon Rainforest, the Tagua or Ivory Palm tree grows an extraordinary fruit - the Tagua Nut. I started with a square (maybe diamond?) clasp, took 10mm black and white polka dot beads, 2 kinds of silver spacers, black & white seed beads, 8mm black cube beads, and 6mm black round beads. Necklace also has a "tail". This necklace is meant to be longer, so it's 27" long, not including the 2.5" tail.
